The task
A short deadline, the full scope
PIWOWARSKI P.S.A. of Sękowo near Nowy Tomyśl is a contractor working in the power sector. They commissioned us for the task „Budowa linii kablowej SN-15 kV w m. Bolewice na odcinku 2350 m” — construction of a 15 kV MV cable line over a 2,350 m section in Bolewice.
The completion period was 18 calendar days: 25 November – 12 December 2024. The client issued the reference letter the day after the works finished, on 13 December 2024. A few days later, on 16 December 2024, we started a larger contract for the same client — the MV/LV network rebuild across eight villages, including Bolewice again.
For a client, a short deadline usually means fitting into an outage window or the schedule of a larger investment. For the contractor, it means good organisation: machinery, materials and crews must be on site from day one.

Ready before mobilising
Route set out, materials — cable, accessories, ducts — ordered and delivered, machinery moved to site. On a short job there is no time to wait for deliveries.

Parallel fronts
Trenching, cable laying and backfilling run in parallel on successive sections, so no trench stays open longer than necessary.
- 03
Own machinery
We have our own CAT excavators, a Volvo HDS truck for cable drums and a drilling rig — so we never have to wait for hired plant.
- 04
Jointing, testing, acceptance
Finally, cable accessories, tests and measurements, reinstatement and handover of documentation — on time and without defects.

What a 15 kV MV line does
Medium-voltage 15 kV lines distribute power from primary substations (GPZ) to MV/LV transformer substations, which supply customers at 0.4 kV. In many regions of Poland 15 kV is the standard MV network voltage. See MV and LV cable lines.
Three cables, three phases
Modern MV cable lines are usually built from three single-core XLPE-insulated cables — one per phase — laid together in one trench. We describe the cable types in MV cables: XRUHAKXS and NA2XS(F)2Y.
Pace and quality
Speed only makes sense if quality doesn't suffer — especially in joints and terminations, on which the line's service life depends. The reference letter confirms the works were done “properly” and “without defects”. Stages of building a line: From design to acceptance.
What this project shows
A first contract that opened the door to the next
Bolewice was our first job for PIWOWARSKI P.S.A. A short deadline and a clear scope — 2,350 m of 15 kV MV cable line — let the client test us in practice. The outcome was a reference letter issued the day after completion and a further contract, worth almost two and a half times as much, starting four days later.
